About the Role:
Ypsilanti Community Schools is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Social Worker to join our student services team. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students, ensuring equitable access to education and positive outcomes for all learners.
This position serves students across K12 settings, working collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families to address barriers to learning, implement interventions, and provide direct support services.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social difficulties.

Conduct social work assessments and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.

Partner with teachers and staff to design and implement behavioral and social-emotional interventions.

Serve as a liaison between school, family, and community resources, ensuring that students and families receive the support they need.

Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.

Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and district reporting requirements.
Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.

Valid Michigan School Social Worker approval/certification (or eligibility to obtain).

Prior experience in a school-based or child-centered environment preferred.
